Co-creating online homes for small businesses
Squarespace website builds, audits and support
Hi, I'm Heather.
I’ve spent five years helping self-employed people behind the scenes in their businesses, building websites, solving tech headaches and making the online side of business feel a little less overwhelming.
I now specialise in Squarespace because I genuinely believe it's one of the best platforms for small businesses. It's flexible, easy to manage and doesn't require you to become a tech genius just to update your own website.
If you’re a small business owner, I understand that your website can sometimes end up at the bottom of a long to-do list, and there might be a little bit of technophobia keeping it there. I also know website support and management might not fit be in your budget right now. My job is to help you learn what you need so it feels doable and works with your budget.
Whether you need a brand new website, a refresh of your existing site or a one-off support call to help you get to the bottom of a website headache, I'm here to make the process feel straightforward and stress-free.
I never gatekeep... I genuinely want you to feel confident managing your own website, so I'll always explain things in plain English and give you the knowledge to make updates yourself. The goal isn't to make you reliant on me or anyone else - It's to leave you feeling capable.

How I can help
You might be starting from scratch and need a website that feels like the right energy for your business and who you’re inviting in to it. You might already have a Squarespace website that isn't quite working as well as you'd hoped, or maybe you've hit a tech hurdle and just need someone to help you figure it out?
Wherever you’re at - I’d like to help you make sense of your website, understand what's working (and what's not), and create something that supports your business without becoming another source of stress.
So whether you’re looking for a little guidance to improve what you already have, a brand new site, or support when you feel stuck - here are a few ways I can help:
Website Builds
We’ll discuss what you need your website to do - the what, who and why stuff - then we’ll agree on the right tier build for your needs (more on tiers here).
We’ll set a date to get started, and agree timelines and responsibilities for each phase during our ‘kick-off’ call.
You’ll get optional training on how to edit/manage your own site.

Why your business needs a website
A website isn’t just a marketing tool, it’s an energetic anchor for your business. It’s a space where your work can exist without you needing to constantly perform, post, or chase the perfect moment on social media..
It holds your business when your energy dips and keeps you visible when you’re offline (working your way though that TBR list or stomping through the South Downs way with your friends!) and gently guides people through what you offer and how to work with you.
Social platforms can change (or disappear!) overnight, but your website remains. It’s a rooted, reliable home where curious visitors can find you, connect with your work, and move naturally from interest to booked, all without the noise of algorithms or feeds.
What happens in a website build?
This is a loose flow because we adapt to your energy + availability…
-
The very first thing we do is make sure we’re on the same page. I’ll need to know your business inside out - including who your ideal client is and what services you offer. So, I’ll ask you to complete a form which helps build this picture really early on to save time in our kick-off call.
-
We have a 45-minute call to:
set up your Squarespace account, template and plan
purchase your domain (if you already have this, we can discuss the transfer / connection)
set up your google workspace / domain email (optional)
hand over your website copy, images, *branding, and links.
allow me access to your email marketing software so I can integrate / embed opt-in forms for your mailing list or newsletter (optional)
discuss the ins and outs of your biz (based on the information gathering form you’ll provide in the info gathering stage)
discuss your availability for the review rounds.
*if you don’t have branding, we can select some Squarespace font packs and colour palettes.
I’ll then begin the build.
-
I’ll get busy building the framework, using your website copy as a guide to create sections ready for your copy, images and links.
Then, l’'ll focus on populating your home page to set the tone for the rest of the site. This will be the first review cycle so I can ensure I’ve captured your vision.
Once you’ve reviewed the home page, I’ll begin on the other pages.
-
This will be time spent building all of your pages, ensuring your copy and images are formatted for mobile, and presented in a way which truly reflects your vibe.
-
I’ll use my own checklist to run a ‘user-test’ - like a mini audit to ensure all links are working, opt-in forms are live, and the overall flow of the site feels good.
I’ll show you how to update your site so you can feel confident with ongoing management.
-
We’ll schedule a 30-minute call to walk through your site.
Any last changes can be made here before we launch your site.
Because this is your website - this is truly collaborative effort.
I’ll handle the design, structure and technical side of the build, but there are a few key pieces only you can provide. To keep things simple, I’ve grouped them into three areas below:
This is everything related to the words and information on your website. It would include your website copy (Home, About, Services etc), a short description of your ideal client, testimonials or reviews, and any links you’d like included such as booking links or social media profiles.
❋ Your ContentThis covers the visual side of your website. Ideally this includes your logo, colour palette, fonts, imagery and any existing brand guidelines. If you don’t have a full brand kit yet, even a rough sense of colours, images or the overall vibe you’re going for is enough to get started.
❋ Your brandingThese are the practical pieces that help your website function properly and stay compliant. This includes your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions, your newsletter or mailing list embed code, and any domain or platform access we might need during the build.
❋ Your tech and legal bitsWebsite build tiers
Creating a website with me isn’t just a technical task. It’s a collaborative and reflective process - we shape your pages together, many people find they gain clarity about their business itself. The work that excites you becomes clearer. The things that drain your energy start to fall away. What you truly want to offer begins to take centre stage.
My role is to translate your ideas and ways of working into a website that feels human, clear, and easy to navigate. Whether your style is calm and spacious or bold and expressive, we’ll create an online space that attracts the people you genuinely want to work with.
And I don’t gatekeep what I know… As I build your site, I’ll help you to gain confidence to manage your website yourself.
By the end of the process, you won’t just have a website - you’ll have a clear, welcoming online home for your business and a deeper understanding of how you want to grow it.

Websites Projects
I’ve worked on lots of Squarespace sites over the years -some I built from scratch. Some I decluttered. Some were collaborations with designers, copywriters, or brand teams.
I’m not a big glossy agency. I’m a grounded, intuitive, builder with your business and your best interests in mind.
Here’s some of the website projects that I’ve been involved in…
